We will do better....I promise!

I do have to apologize for not updating our blog. I have decided to start fresh and make a commitment to post something every week.

We moved to a new house, which I still need to take a picture of. It has been wonderful the past few months. We have something that we can take a little pride in and make our own. We have planted a garden and have been working on the yard. I wish I had more time to dedicate to the yard, I always find it depressing when I come home to see it not up to what I picture. I will take some pictures this week and post them for your viewing experience.

School has kept me occupied lately. I have been trying to keep up on my studies and maintain relationships at the same time. So far it has been working. Working on an MBA has been relaxing compaired to my undergrad. I don't have as much pressure and I don't have to pay for it ether. It has been fun and a rewarding opportunity.

The kids are doing well. We just celebrated Emma's 2 year birthday. She got a stroller for her baby doll as well as a slide. I have never seen a kid so excited to go on a slide. She started to get a little board with it the other day so she switched it up and went down on her belly for added excitement. Oh to be a kid again. Kennedy is still into her princess stuff. Of course I will never understand this obsession. She loves everything about princesses, i.e. books, movies, toys, etc. She is a very smart girl. I quiz her at the dinner table on her numbers and letters. She is very mindful of her surroundings and is able to explain events in great detail. I find it fascinating the things she can remember. I can't imagine life without her infectious personality.

I will get Kathy to write some posts as well. She would be much better at posting the events in our lives than I. She has a natural gift for writing. I hope some day she is able to explore it. She is always talking about writing a book. I think if she had the time she could do it.

I hope everything is going well in your lives. Give us a call sometime. We are always getting together with friends and family. In fact I have I am practicing Dutch Oven this weekend on a few of my close friends (Johnson's, Corley's, Bell's). It should be fun. I really value the time I get to spend with them. They are good friends.

Christmas

I thought I would upload some new pics and give a quick update on our Christmas. We had a great time together as a family. The girls really got into the Christmas fun. They loved their Frosty movie and were sad to see it put away with all of our Christmas stuff.

We really injoyed hanging out with Aaron and Michelle this last month. It was really fun to see them again and talk. It would be really great if they moved back to Utah, hint, hint. Spencer and Monica are back. I forgot my camera when we went up to see them. We had an awsome dinner and a great night. We hope we can get back up to Layton soon. We also heard a rumor that Phil and Amy might be moving up to SLC. I hope it turns out well for them.
Jared is also starting up at Westminster College this spring semmester. I really don't want to go back to school, but it would be good to get it done and out of the way. It looks like it will be fun. I have been able to network with many people over the past week.
We hope everyone had a great Christmas season and look forward to spending our new year with you all. We really do have great Family and Freinds.

November Fun

I thought it would be nice to put some new picture on our page and let everyone know how we are doing. This month has been really nice for our family. The holidays seem to make everyone in a better mood. The girls love all the cool Christmas decor, especially the snowmen. In fact Kennedy's favorite show is Frosty. Kathy and I are trying to teach them about Christmas, but I still don't think they get it just yet. It will be fun to see how they both react when the day finally arrives.

Kathy and I can hardly wait to see everyone in December. Spencer and Monica will be back and we are counting down the days. As well we are excited to see Aaron and Michelle. It has been such a long time when everyone has been around at the same time.

Donda Esta El Banyo!

We are still trying to potty train Kennedy. She knows where number two goes, but just can’t seem to make the connection when it comes to actually going number two in the potty. If anyone has suggestions let us know. We would really like to get past this trial in our lives.

Everything is going well for the Cahoon’s. I (Jared) finally graduated from school and now work for L-3 Communications. It has been a good place to work. Basically I just bill a lot of money and make sure that we get paid for it in 30 days. Everything else is gravy, if you want to call it that. I am grateful that I work with good people; everyone has been really professional about their work. It is a good change from my last job. Most of the time when anyone at my last job talked about professionalism it was in reference to some other company that had their $%#@ together.

I would like to say we are interesting people that do fun and exiting things, but I would be telling a lie. Most of the time our fun comes from taking the kids to Murray Park on Friday or Saturday morning and letting them run until they get tired. We have yet to accomplish this goal. Most of the time Kathy and I are the ones that get tired and want to go home. We do enjoy going to the farmers market after the kids play. We find a lot of good vegetables and fruit for the kids to eat during the week. Funny that we want our kids to eat well, but when it comes to our diets we always will eat healthy down the road. Like down the road is any better than just starting now. I have also noticed while we are at the market that there is a plenty supply of Hippies. I feel like wearing a Ronald Reagan t-shirt just to see how many people judge me for my conservative ideals. Of course Hippies “don’t judge” because that is what conservatives do. It’s the person inside that matters, not what a person looks like or what they were. Unless you are Mormon, dressed in a t-shirt of Ronald Reagan, which would be wrong.

Sorry about the rant, I have been reading more political articles lately and it has been driving me mad. I guess that is why I have tried to ignore it for the past year or so. The article that really set me off was in the D-news about Harry Reid giving his speech at BYU. I liked it when he told the audience that we as Mormons need to put the small things aside (Abortion and Gay Marriage) and focus on what really matters, healthcare. Healthcare, are you kidding me. The day ether party focuses on bettering healthcare, restructuring the tax code and social security is the day monkeys will fly out of my butt (Wyan’s World love that show).

Anyway, I will get off my shop box and end my rant. I hope everyone is doing well. Drop us a line if you need anything or you just want to hangout. If anyone has any good recipes for bread or dessert let me know. I need to turn in our recipes for the Dutch Oven World Cook Off in December. Kathy and I will compete in March for the Championship. Wow, did I just say that? I think I just officially became old. I always thought old people cook Dutch Oven as a hobby.
